Outpatient Therapist - Horizons (Child Advocacy Center) – Full Time Equivalent (FTE) 1

Job Position Summary
:
The Outpatient Clinician provides medically necessary clinical services to a diverse client population, informed by quality assessment, efficient treatment, and timely medical documentation. The role includes active participation in delivering outstanding customer service, maintaining respectful relationships, and providing compassionate care.

Essential Functions
  • Completes diagnostic assessments and informs crime victims of statutory rights under K.S.A. §§ 74‑7301; 74‑7333; 74‑7335.
  • Provides outpatient behavioral health treatment appropriately, including individual, family, group, and in‑home therapy.
  • Performs utilization review as requested.
  • Implements medically necessary treatment services, assesses functional capacity, and determines level of care (LOC) for all clients.
  • Documents all service provisions through timely, quality record documentation.
  • Provides assessment and treatment for crisis clients, offering emotional support and referrals to appropriate resources.
  • Completes related activities as assigned by the department head or direct supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum Knowledge and Skills Required
    • Knowledge of various theoretical treatments and practice applications.
    • Experience derived from direct service provision.
    Preferred Knowledge and Skills Required
    • Experience managing treatment plans and treatment teams, including directing and managing client treatment with other providers.
    • Specialized treatment experience including EMDR, DBT, SFBT, Motivational Interviewing, CBT, and other evidence‑based treatments.

    Minimum Education and Experience Required
    • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy.
    Preferred

    Education and Experience
    • Three to five years experience working with diagnosing and treating SPMI/SMI or SED populations.
    • Understanding of integrating care with other providers.
    • Ability to supervise other clinicians for their clinical licensure (minimum two years after licensure).
    • Three to five years experience working with diverse client populations, including high‑risk groups.
    Required Licensure / Registration / Certification
    • BSRB Licensed at Master’s Level Clinician.
    • All necessary trainings for specialized care, including those for Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP).
    • Valid Driver’s License.
    Preferred Licensure / Registration / Certification
    • Clinical Level Licensure by BSRB.
    • Substance Use Disorder licensure.
