We are seeking a skilled and proactive Market Mechanic to join our team. This position will

assist the Fleet and Maintenance Manager with the hands‑on oversight and maintenance of our

widespread fleet of vehicles and heavy equipment. This role represents an opportunity to join

an awesome team on the ground floor, learn a lot, and have a ton of fun as GRC grows!

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Act as the primary market point of contact to facilitate timely and efficient out‑of‑service repairs for all fleet vehicles and heavy equipment by coordinating with established vendors.
  • Manage and ensure adherence to regular preventative maintenance schedules (e.g., fluid/filter changes, tune‑ups, inspections) for all market assets.
  • Provide on‑site diagnostic and repair assistance for minor mechanical issues to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Perform routine vehicle and equipment inspections according to the determined schedule (e.g., DOT/OSHA pre‑trip, periodic safety checks).
  • Maintain the Maintenance Database by accurately opening, updating, and closing repair tickets, ensuring all records are current and complete.
  • Provide support and training to market employees regarding vehicle telematics systems and basic operational maintenance.
  • Conduct yard/gate checks as needed to confirm asset readiness and compliance.
  • May be required to work overtime; after hours; on weekends, for emergencies, or be on‑call as work is needed to ensure equipment readiness.
Experience and Qualifications:
  • Vehicle/Heavy Equipment Maintenance: 5-10 years of professional experience maintaining a diverse fleet of light‑duty vehicles (trucks), trailers, and heavy construction equipment (e.g., excavators, trenchers, backhoes).
  • Experience with LOF (Lube, Oil, Filter) Procedures and general vehicle preventative maintenance.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple urgent priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills for interacting with vendors, market leadership, and field employees.
  • Proven track record of strong follow‑up and follow‑through on assigned tasks and repairs.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and maintenance software management.
  • Ability to anticipate needs and be proactive in managing the fleet to prevent breakdowns.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new equipment technologies and diagnostic procedures.
Requirements:
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • CDL A is strongly preferred due to the nature of heavy equipment transport.
