Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of line duties within the manufacturing environment to include processing, machine operator, and/or break relief operator jobs (e.g., Receiver, Palletizer, Blend/Filler/CIP/Mix/Packaging/Loader operators). This may include troubleshooting and performing minor maintenance repairs.
- Clean, set‑up, operate, and monitor equipment on the production line.
- Ensure that the proper materials are used for each product being produced.
- Complete all required documentation and scheduled quality checks.
- Review charts, screens, quality check sheets, and specifications that are in both hard copy and electronic format.
- Perform cleaning and sanitation tasks as required to maintain plant equipment; complete cleaning checklist once the line has completed a run.
- Prepare equipment for the next run to include size changes as needed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties.
- Maintain communication with other departments, supervisors, and employees and notify them of any problems or concerns that may restrict production efficiency.
- Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clear, legible, and accurate format and completed with required information. Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOPs.
- Review process data and equipment performance data to improve quality, throughput, and troubleshoot.
- Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.
- Maintain safe working conditions for employees and comply with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues.
- Safely operate a forklift, including a standing forklift, to load trucks and move inventory from one location to another.
- Perform routine machine adjustments.
- Accurately maintain inventory records and paperwork.
- Assist with monthly inventory counts, year‑end inventory counts, and cycle counts as required.
- Accurately maintain shipping paperwork.
- Assist with powder sampling in accordance with U.S.D.A. guidelines.

RequirementsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 to 3 years of manufacturing/production experience, preferably in the dairy or consumer goods industry.
- Certification and/or license may be required during the course of employment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of plant operations.
- Proficiency with company computer systems.
- Ability to operate production equipment, components, and peripheral accessories.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to follow directions and meet deadlines.
- Ability to take appropriate steps to find solutions to problems.
- Ability to perform tasks and duties under general supervision.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
