Tactical Aircraft Maintenance Subject Matter Expert
This position will serve as the day-to-day on-site tactical aircraft maintenance subject matter expert (SME) and provide technical direction and oversight to the Aeronautics Field Sustainment (AFS) Interim Contractor Support (ICS) personnel assigned to Naval Air Station Fallon Nevada. Additionally, this position will serve as the POC for the on-site AFS Site Lead, the Government Contract Quality Assurance (GCQA) Representative, and host squadron Government leadership team.
Daily interaction with aircraft maintenance personnel in execution of the daily flying schedule. Works directly with multiple company/LM lines of business including Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS), Data Quality Information Management (DQIM), Supply, Support Equipment, and other logistics enablers to ensure support of the daily/weekly/monthly/annual flying hour program are executed. Works directly with leadership and enablers outside Fallon to ensure aircraft availability and mission effectiveness metrics are met.
Focuses on the development of LM site specific ICS plans and procedures required to operate in an ever-evolving environment and serve as a tactical SME to the Site Lead on aircraft maintenance topics. Responsible for the continued development of of the nose-to-tail maintenance concept and will provided feedback on that training approach. Manages the recruitment, hiring and training of the LM AFS ICS Team per the approved staffing plan.
Provide close coordination directly with the AFS Site Lead for overall management efforts including staffing plans, Temporary Duty (TDY) requirements and budget execution. Be responsive to operational and support concerns of Naval Air Warfighting Development Center senior leadership to ensure support is provided by ICS support activities. Monitor, review, and analyze logistics indicators and ensure appropriate resources are focused on resolving unit technical and support issues in an expedient manner.

The following Basic Qualifications are skills that a candidate must possess to be considered for this position:
- 8 years minimum fighter aircraft maintenance experience with thorough understanding of Fighter Aircraft Systems and flight line operations
- Overall fighter experience must include at least 2 years F-35 aircraft maintenance experience (experience must be within the last 4 years)
- Leadership experience in an aircraft maintenance environment
- Experience as Qualified Safe-for-Flight Release on fighter aircraft
- Must have experience with programs such as;
Aircraft Scheduling, Aircraft Records Management, Maintenance Control, Aircraft Configuration Control, Maintenance Information System, Tool and FOD, Training, Safety, Security, Hazardous Waste Management, or Supply Chain Management.
The following Desired Skills are not required but are those skills that would set a candidate apart from the other candidates:
- Experience in a U.S. Navy aircraft maintenance environment
- Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS) or Integrated Information System (IMIS) experience.
- Portable Maintenance Aid (PMA) activities such as aircraft forms documentation.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
- Knowledgeable of Safety, Tool Control, Foreign Object damage (FOD), Supply, Hazardous Material (HAZMAT), Training Management System (TMS), Quality, and Security programs.
- Knowledge of OPNAV 8023.24 Navy Personnel Conventional Ammunition and Explosives Handling Qualification and Certification Program
- Experience developing work schedules for employees.
- Ability to work in a flexible schedule environment
- Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office.
