Excavator Operator

About the PositionAs part of our construction team, you will operate heavy equipment to prepare and maintain job sites for network infrastructure. The role requires attention to safety, precision, and teamwork. It reports to the Construction Manager and offers growth within a well‑funded organization.
Responsibilities- Operate excavators, dozers, backhoes, compactors, articulated dump trucks, and front‑end loaders.
- Maintain equipment in good working order at all times.
- Operate heavy equipment safely, with precision and efficiency.
- Work long periods with continuous attention to detail and safety.
- Communicate with field crew using hand signals or radio to coordinate equipment positioning.
- Restore or landscape disturbed areas of the job site.
- Set up site and perform clean‑up duties.
- Load and unload tools, materials, and equipment on the truck.
- Participate in new‑site Job Safety Analysis (JSA) before construction begins.
- Set up safety perimeters using signage, cones, safety barriers, and flag traffic as needed.
- Work overtime, after hours, weekends, emergencies, or on‑call as required to ensure project completion.
- Follow instructions and perform tasks as directed.
- Provide local and occasional out‑of‑state coverage within Nevada.
- Minimum one year of excatelator operation experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Availability for on‑call and weekend work.
- Travel required.
- Experience with FTTH/FTTX.
- CDL‑A endorsement.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of basic utility construction processes and terminology.
Hourly rate: $24 – $28, based on experience.
ScheduleDay Shift: Monday – Friday;
Night Shift: Sunday – Thursday.
100% travel.
Openings & Start DateNumber of positions: 2.
Target start date: 2–3 weeks from offer.
