Job SummaryPosition is primarily responsible for accounts receivable activity related to Goodwin House Incorporated, including preparation of monthly resident statements and monitoring delinquent accounts. The role includes monthly reconciliation of all Goodwin House Accounts Receivable to the general ledger and collaboration with the Accounts Receivable Coordinator and Medical Claims Coordinator. Pay: $26/hr-$32/hr based on experience.
PrincipalDuties & Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly resident statements and ensure payments and reimbursement entries are correctly posted to individual accounts; reconcile monthly fee accounts to appropriate general ledger accounts.
- Run monthly census reports to determine new admissions for all levels of care and reconcile monthly census in AOD to an Excel spreadsheet.
- Review new contracts to ensure residents are set up with the correct plan on the correct date.
- Track new contract information and obtain insurance details, including primary and secondary insurance cards, for transmission to the Medical Claims Coordinator.
- Enter or import charges into the billing software for medical supplies, pharmacy, dining, and resident services as required.
- Oversee end‑of‑month activities to ensure departmental procedures relating to the billing system are properly followed.
- Post GHA & GHAH cash receipts into the billing software weekly and reconcile the cash receipt log to the monthly billing register.
- Follow up on delinquent accounts, attempt to collect, and forward accounts to supervisor per the collection procedure.
- Serve as backup for billing at GHBC.
- Maintain confidentiality of all business/financial matters and observe HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain the electronic filing system for all GHA residents in the AOD System and file monthly reconciliations in the Fortis Scan System, including AR reconciliation and census reports.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Accounting, Business, or Health Care.
- Minimum of four years of progressively responsible accounting experience preferred.
- Strong communication and professional teamwork skills.
- Excellent organization and prioritization skills with ability to meet deadlines.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Detail‑oriented with thorough and accurate work habit and proactive use of system checks and balances.
