Summary:
The Project Accounting Manager leads the project accounting function and ensures the financial integrity of projects throughout their lifecycle. This role oversees financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, billing, contract administration, and project profitability analysis while partnering with project managers and leadership to support business objectives and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Accounting & Financial Management:
- Manage project accounting activities for a portfolio of active projects
- Oversee project setup, budget tracking, cost monitoring, billing, and project closeouts
- Ensure accurate recording and allocation of project costs
- Monitor project performance against budgets and forecasts
- Review project transactions, journal entries, and account reconciliations
- Analyze project profitability and identify financial risks and opportunities
- Prepare and review monthly project financial reports and dashboards
- Analyze variances and communicate findings to operational leadership
- Support month end, quarter end, and year end close processes
- Develop project forecasts and cash flow projections
- Assist with budgeting and strategic planning activities
- Oversee project billing and ensure timely, accurate invoicing
- Review contracts and ensure compliance with financial terms
- Support change order tracking and contract modifications
- Partner with project teams to resolve billing issues and improve collections

- 5-8 years of accounting experience
- Project accounting experience
- Job costing experience
- ASC 606 experience
- Large ERP system experience
- Managerial experience
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
