Secretary I (Administrative Support)

Falls Church, VA (Onsite Only)

Full-Time (40 hours/week)
We are seeking full-time Secretary I professionals to provide onsite administrative and customer service support for a U.S. Federal Government program located in Falls Church, Virginia. This position supports a high-volume federal permitting and reporting operation and requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, and professionalism. This is a 100% onsite position. Remote or hybrid work is not permitted.
Key Responsibilities- Administrative & Permit Processing Support
- Process permit applications and related documentation within government electronic systems, including ePermits.
- Print, prepare, and mail official permits and correspondence on security paper.
- Accurately enter, review, and audit data from paper applications into electronic databases.
- Perform quality control checks to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
- Code permit applications and apply judgment when data corrections are necessary.
- Customer Service Support
- Assist the lead customer service attendant in responding to inquiries from the public and applicants.
- Answer phones professionally and provide courteous, accurate information.
- Respond to written and electronic inquiries in a timely manner.
- Maintain communication and activity logs.
- Records & Data Management
- Receive, date‑stamp, scan, upload, photocopy, and route incoming mail.
- Log mail and application activity in Excel tracking spreadsheets.
- Digitize, organize, and file paper and electronic records.
- Support records retention and disposal activities in accordance with federal requirements.
- Draft and mail form letters and official correspondence.
- Team & Workflow Support
- Independently organize, track, and manage assigned workload.
- Coordinate with Government team leaders and specialists regarding task progress.
- Meet strict deadlines while managing repetitive, high‑volume tasks.
- Maintain professionalism and contribute to a positive office environment.
- Ability to work 100% onsite in Falls Church, VA.
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Experience with administrative or clerical support.
- Customer service experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Ability to pass a federal background investigation.

40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM ET (exact schedule determined by the Government). Federal holidays observed.
