We are seeking an experienced Masonry Superintendent who desires to contribute to a great team and company. We seek a candidate with at least seven years in the masonry trade. The best candidate will have experience installing brick, block, and architectural cast stone. They will also have at least one to three (1-3) years of supervisory experience as an Assistant Masonry Superintendent or a Masonry Superintendent.
The masonry superintendent is the field leader accountable for delivering all masonry work safely, on schedule, within budget, and at a high level of quality across all projects. This individual will work closely with the Project Teams and be able to manage and communicate effectively with Owners, Architects, General Contractors, subcontractors, and field personnel, ensuring that every project is properly planned, well‑executed, and continuously improving.
Responsibilities- Oversee multiple foremen, assistant foremen, and all masonry field personnel.
- Responsible for the quality, safety, production, and training of all masonry operations. Schedule, coordinate, and manage daily construction activities.
- Work closely with general contracting superintendents, project managers, and project engineers.
- Establishes clear quality expectations and ensures standards are met.
- Leads pre‑construction and weekly planning efforts.
- Coach and develop foremen to build strong leaders.
- Coordinates with General Contractors, Project Managers, and other trades to ensure masonry workflow and sequencing remains productive.
- Resolve field issues quickly and decisively.
- Manage labor productivity against the established budget. Minimizes cost impact through reduced rework, improved efficiency, and proper manpower allocation.
- Enforce company and OSHA safety standards.
- Promote a strong, consistent safety culture.
- Work with vendors to order and coordinate the delivery of equipment and materials.
- Develop and maintain strong, productive supplier and trade contractor relationships.
- Experience in masonry construction and supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Thorough understanding of quality building practices.
- Ability to identify problems and efficiently solve them.
- Ability to read, understand, and execute blueprints, drawings, plans and contract documents.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Proven track record of site leadership.
- History of exceptional teamwork and collaboration.
- Able to travel to the jobsite(s) as assigned.
This position will be based out of the Falls Church, Virginia office but the candidate must be able to travel to job sites across the DMV.
