Job Description

A Project Manager (PM) develops, coordinates, implements, and manages all facets necessary to construct the project on time, within budget, and to the quality specified. The PM provides leadership, serves as the liaison between project team members, and promotes the interests of both the business and clients. The PM is the primary leader for the construction project.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain adherence to HITT’s safety standards and ensure required documentation is filed.
  • Create and manage project budgets for all assigned projects.
  • Develop and collaborate on pre‑construction RFP packages.
  • Conduct project meetings, set milestones, and formulate monthly owner reports.
  • Establish job processes (RFIs, submittals, pay applications), approve pay applications, and negotiate subcontract change orders.
  • Perform project scheduling; ensure quality control and overall logistics.
  • Manage the closeout process efficiently.
  • Contact new and existing customers to discuss needs and explain how services can be met.
  • Supervise assistant operations support roles such as assistant project manager, administrative assistant, MEP managers, safety team members, etc.
  • Collaborate with the project superintendent and site operations team throughout the project life cycle.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma required; four‑year degree in construction, engineering, or business strongly preferred.
  • In lieu of a degree, additional work experience is acceptable.
  • 5+ years’ experience in commercial construction, including experience with a commercial general contractor.
  • Previous project management experience with the ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with sector/project‑specific software such as Microsoft Office (Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), Pro Core, Adobe, Blue Beam, JD Edwards.
  • Ability to read and update construction drawings.
  • Organize necessary resources, including people, tools, and time, to meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of current market conditions, pricing conventions, and trends.
  • Must demonstrate a strong ability to:

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range (Virginia Senate Bill 215): $96,800.00 – $. Compensation may vary by city or state. HITT Contracting offers:
