ESY - Homebound Teacher

Position: ESY - Homebound Hourly Teacher
Summary

Plans and implements an Extended School Year program that includes instruction in communication, life, and social skills; works with students at all grade levels that are unable to attend classroom services due to a medical or psychiatric condition; provides instructional services either virtually or in-person at a student?s home in alignment with designated school curriculum and materials; utilizes best practices in teaching to achieve student?s

IEP goals; follows pre-designed lessons, activities, and maintains appropriate pacing; participates in Summer Collaborative Team meetings; collaborates with administrators, central office staff, teachers, and paraprofessionals; maintains accurate and complete records as required by law, regulation, and policy.

Qualifications

Must hold a license issued by the Virginia Department of Education with some experience in teaching. Experience in teaching homebound curriculum, preferred. Knowledge of the instructional practices, techniques, and materials pertaining to the assigned teaching specialty; proficiency in technology; strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to develop positive relationships with staff, students, and families.
