Position SummaryWe are seeking an IT‑oriented System Engineer 4 to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) Business Unit. As part of SES, you will design, implement, operate, maintain, and secure large, complex, resilient hardware and virtualized infrastructure to ensure solutions meet stakeholder needs, standards, and performance requirements.
Responsibilities- Work closely with stakeholders to gather technical requirements, architect solutions, and deliver on a coordinated technical program.
- Drive the analysis, evaluation, engineering, and implementation of system improvements, automation, optimization, and deployments.
- Drive the development of designs and architectural changes to infrastructure environments, including physical/logical drawings, engineering design plans, implementation plans, transition plans, test plans, and failover plans.
- Perform security updates to hardware and software to maintain the security posture across all systems.
- U.S. citizenship and adjudicated U.S. Secret Clearance; active Secret Clearance required.
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 7 years of progressive experience in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related Engineering/IT discipline.
- Experience eliciting requirements, researching, designing, testing, and implementing hardware and software solutions for virtual infrastructure technologies.
- Engineering experience with VMware ESXi and vSphere, Microsoft Windows Server deployment and administration (including Windows 11), DNS, DFS, DHCP, WSUS, KMS, Active Directory and Group Policy, and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager.
- Experience performing security scans, applying security configurations such as DISA STIG/SRGs, and maintaining system updates.
- Experience virtualizing enterprise applications (Active Directory, MS SQL, RHEL, MS SharePoint, etc.).
- Proficient in API management and scripting languages, including Power Shell, Python, JSON, Bash.
- Meeting DoD 8570 IAT Level‑II requirements.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and managing time and organization to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
- Strong MS Office and Visio skills.
- Desired/Advantageous:
Administration of OCSP, troubleshooting and optimizing Trellix security products (Endpoint Security, DLP, HIPS), designing and deploying SQL database infrastructure, engineering software‑defined network platforms, and vendor certifications such as VMware, Cisco, Microsoft, Net App.
- Exposure to computer screens for extended periods of time.
- Ability to sit for extended periods.
- Ability to reach with hands or arms in any direction.
- Finger dexterity to manipulate objects with fingers (e.g., keyboard use).
- Listening, speaking, reading, and typed communication competencies required.
