Mechanical Engineer For Semiconductor Assembly Equipment
The candidate will be a member of a multi-site K&S team that develops and sustains semiconductor assembly equipment. The successful incumbent will be responsible for the design, development, documentation and testing of mechanical subsystems that is part of a high-performance semiconductor assembly machine under development.
Responsibilities• Analyzes, designs, and tests electro-mechanical systems for high-performance multi-axis robotic semiconductor manufacturing equipment and process equipment.
• Under guidance of a senior engineer, performs analysis and calculations necessary to ensure designs meet requirements including performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost targets.
• Evaluates prototype designs against requirements, performs testing, documents and analyses data and write reports.
• Support fabrication/build of prototype and production systems
• Work closely with Electrical Engineering and Software teams to achieve module performance
• Helps to create Bill of Materials for the machine, as well as related accessories and kits.
• Manage and coordinate the integration of multiple subsystems and modules into the overall CAD model of a large machine with >2,000 unique components
• Leverage various software tools and lab equipment to collect data
• Customer liaising
• Other duties as assigned
Knowledge & Experience requirements
• Minimum 0-2 years of precision mechanical engineering design.
• Capable of using 3D CAD solid modeling tools (such as NX or Pro Engineer), Finite Element Modeling (Nastran or equivalent), and MS Office tools.
• Ability to perform analysis related to thermal, fluid, motion, vibration, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to perform testing, write reports, and evaluate prototype designs against product requirements.
• Ability to interpret requirements and Design tooling according to customer's specifications and requirements
• Ability to perform machine trouble shooting and testing
• Knowledge of materials and production methods.
• Knowledge of low volume manufacturing methods and mechanical engineering standards including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance).
• Ability to perform detailed analysis related to motion systems and mechanism designs.
Education Requirements
• Minimum a bachelor's degree in mechanical or robotics engineering
