Part‑Time Treasury Assistant (Onsite) – $18 per hour

- Provides accurate receipting and processing of all revenue received through the Treasurer’s Office, including payments for local taxes, parking tickets, dog licenses, and other City fees and fines, and processes daily deposit receipts from other City departments.
- Reconciles cash receipts to the General Ledger daily and prepares bank deposits.
- Responds to inquiries from the public, mortgage companies and businesses; provides specialized information about taxes and Treasurer’s Office services, researching and resolving complex issues.
- Prepares clear and concise written responses to taxpayer inquiries via Treasury department email.
- Maintains an accurate billing address database based on returned mail and address updates.
- Returns all phone calls in a timely manner from the Treasury department voicemail.
- Carries out day‑to‑day operations in the Treasurer’s office, including cashiering, cash handling, a variety of office support functions, customer service, and other duties as assigned.
- Strong financial background, including prior retail cashiering or banking experience.
- Experience working with the public, with emphasis on a strong customer service background.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, written and verbal – must be able to clearly and effectively communicate with the public and co‑workers.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, with an emphasis on Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities and work quickly, pleasantly and accurately under pressure.
- Ability to lift 10 lbs.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required.
Hours:
Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Some flexibility may be available.
Salary:
Starting from $18 per hour, depending on qualifications. This is a part‑time position without any fringe benefits.
