Northrop Grumman is in need of a Principal Dev Ops Engineer to join the AI Infrastructure Engineering team within the Insights & Intelligence (i2) organization. This role will report to the Manager of AI Infrastructure Engineering and will be remote and/or hybrid supporting the Falls Church, VA office.

Insights & Intelligence (i2) is reimagining decision making at Northrop Grumman. As part of our Chief Information & Digital Office (CIDO), i2 works with all enterprise domains and businesses to drive our data, analytics & AI transformation.

As as a Dev Ops Engineer you will work with a team of Dev Ops and AI Systems Engineers that maintain, modify, and implement infrastructure, API Gateways, and cloud solutions in support of our AI and Analytics strategy.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Design and implement systems capable of scaling to meet growing data and computation demands in AI applications.
  • Implement AI Infrastructure that is compliant with relevant regulations and security standards, implementing necessary controls
  • Provide metrics to evaluate the performance and reliability of AI infrastructure and implement improvements based on findings.
  • Track advancements in AI technologies and infrastructure trends and evaluate applicability to the organization’s strategy.
  • Work alongside data scientists, software engineers, and i2 functional teams to provide infrastructure support for new and existing systems.
Basic Qualifications
  • Must have 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelors degree OR 3 Years of relevant experience with Masters degree OR 9 years of relevant experience in lieu of the degree requirement
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years experience implementing the back-end infrastructure for COTS or SaaS platforms
  • Must have at minimum, 2 years of experience working with cloud (AWS or Azure) infrastructure and services
  • Must have experience with Dev Ops practices and tools for automation (ansible, ArgoCD), CI/CD, and configuration management.
  • Must have hands-on experience with relevant programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Powershell/Bash)
  • Must have experience managing Windows and Linux server environments
  • Must have basic knowledge of database technologies (e.g., SQL, No

    SQL) and distributed computing systems
  • Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
  • a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or a related field is preferred
  • Hands-on experience managing Kubernetes cluster, using helm is a plus
  • Familiarity with cloud native CI/CD services (Code Pipeline, Code Build, Azure Dev Ops )
  • Experience with cyber hardening containers including vulnerability management
  • Experience developing or adapting applications for deployment to Kubernetes based clusters (Rancher, Open Shift, EKS, AKS)
  • AWS Associate Level certificate or higher
  • Azure Associate Level certificate or higher
  • Active DOW Secret Clearance
