Job Overview
GDIT is seeking an Army & Defense Agencies Sector CTO with deep Department of Defense experience and understanding of existing and emerging commercial technologies. This position will bridge the gap between customer mission needs, GDIT technology solutions, and external technologies. It will drive the business strategy and technical solutions needed to win our most complex, large scale, and strategic proposals. This is one of the company's most important customer‑facing roles, and it will give you the opportunity to provide the strategic direction of our Defense Agencies go‑to‑market approach and interact with bleeding‑edge technologies that we bring to our customers.
To be successful in this role you must be able to translate relevant details about technologies into a language that DoD personnel appreciate and can be understood by management and other stakeholders.

ResponsibilitiesThe Sector Level CTO is responsible for evaluating existing technology solutions, vendors, and processes to identify opportunities for improvement and enhancement, with a focus on introducing new capabilities that meet client needs. This involves conducting thorough analysis and research to determine optimal partnerships and on‑contract delivery options, as well as developing and testing rapid prototyping to demonstrate the feasibility and potential of new ideas and capabilities.
Additionally, you will collaborate with operational teams to facilitate a seamless transition of new technologies and solutions, ensuring long‑term success for our clients and DoD mission objectives.
- Oversee Solutions Architects engaged in capture and proposal efforts to secure new or re‑compete contracts, or task order business by developing technical solutions for capture strategy and proposal responses.
- Work with GDIT Army and Defense Agencies business to meet with DoD customers to achieve deep mutual understanding of mission objectives and how they connect with GDIT technical offerings.
- Serve as the vital link between Division CTO organization, P&L Operations and Growth functions leading technology initiatives, technology introductions, integration of technology solution concepts on current programs, and the development and execution of a “go‑to‑market” plan on technical solution ingestion within both the Army and Defense Agencies markets.
- Lead Sector coordination between GDIT technical Centers of Excellence, Pursuit Teams, Capability Teams, and Enterprise Solution Architecture ensuring all technical elements are synced to Sector Growth and Execution strategy.
- Assist in overall technical resources management, ensuring appropriate resources are at the right place, at the right time, tracking status and quality of technical support to proactively address risks and resolve issues before they become problems.
- Lead and coordinate Sector technology "Pre‑Sales" activity, coordinating with Growth and P&L leadership to deploy technical resources and solutions in support of customer requirements, and ensuring technical EIC activities meet customer needs with appropriate technology identified, available, and prepared to support senior government engagements.
- Education:
Bachelor's Degree. In lieu of a degree, an additional four years of related experience required. - 10+ years of experience leading and managing complex information technology initiatives.
- 10+ years of Department of Defense experience.
