FINANCE MANAGER
GDIT is a technology firm seeking a finance professional to join its Finance Transformation team as a Manager focusing on business process improvement, AI enablement, and intelligent automation. The role is ideal for someone who understands finance operations, can navigate complex workflows, and possesses strong communication and change‑management skills. While a technical foundation is important, we aren’t looking for an IT specialist;
we need someone who can bridge the gap between financial logic and modern automation tools.
You will play a key role in modernizing financial processes, supporting automation initiatives, and partnering across teams to drive meaningful operational improvements.
This hybrid role is based in Falls Church, VA, with in‑office engagement three days per week.
What You’ll Do Drive Financial Process Improvement- Analyze existing finance workflows to identify manual steps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for simplification.
- Work directly with departmental champions to prioritize process improvements based on operational impact.
- Help design future‑state processes that align with enterprise standards and support scalable automation.
- Partner with the CIO’s AI & Data team to shape and refine AI assistants used across finance.
- Translate business pain points into practical automation use cases.
- Guide teams on how to adopt emerging AI capabilities safely and effectively.
- Evaluate automation and AI requests by considering ROI, feasibility, data readiness, and operational impact.
- Maintain a transparent, prioritized roadmap that finance leadership can confidently execute against.
- Work with finance teams to understand their workflows, challenges, and desired outcomes.
- Convert process insights into clear, structured requirements for technical implementation teams.
- Communicate across finance, champions, and CIO partners to ensure alignment and progress.
- Mentor and support departmental champions as they identify opportunities and adopt automation within their teams.
- Establish feedback loops between champions, functional leaders, and the transformation team.
- Support a culture of continuous improvement across finance.
- Education:
Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science - Experience:
5+ years of related experience - Strong understanding of how finance organizations operate, including processes, handoffs, and pain points.
- Data analytics experience. Familiarity with Oracle EPM, Oracle E‑Business Suite, Oracle OAS, KNIME, or Alteryx is not required but training is provided.
- Technical curiosity and a willingness to learn new tools, AI capabilities, and automation concepts.
- Experience leading change initiatives or process improvement work.
- A growth mindset and openness to adopting new technologies and approaches.
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain process or technology changes clearly.
- Comfort working with senior finance leaders and influencing cross‑functional teams.
- A customer‑service mindset and strong problem‑solving skills.
