The Senior Intelligence Analyst supports Inspection Service criminal programs, including; but not limited to narcotics, prohibited mailings, mail theft, mail fraud, money laundering, and organized crime. This position will provide intelligence and analytical support services to the field and NHQs by incorporating information from multiple sources to support casework and develop comprehensive targeting plans. The analyst shall be capable of using technology solutions to actively search, analyze, and prioritize information to identify high-value subjects or targets for the agency.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities :- Intelligence Gathering and Assessment Evaluate data from a variety of sources to include agency databases, investigative resources, social media, chats, forums, darknet, Tor network, news feeds, internet relay chats and other sources of data openly available on the Internet. Perform a prioritized assessment of the data to identify the most critical and reliable data in order to identify criminal activity, monetization methods, locations, accounts, services, travels, email addresses, IP addresses and other pattern of life data in an effort to determine attribution.
- Quality Assurance/Quality Management Assess the work of others, including facilitating the flow of work-related information, peer-review of work product and providing technical guidance to achieve program or project objectives. Coordinate and establish internal and shared case files, incorporating case-related documents, analysis, and intelligence reports.
- Data Analysis Analyze data to identify and interpret patterns and trends, assess data quality and eliminate irrelevant data; present findings in reports and presentations in non-technical terminology to various audiences.
- Reporting Responsibilities Responsible for documenting and reporting analytical results, creating graphic displays and reports that present clear and concise representations of the information analyzed; and disseminating data as required by the assigned task(s).
- Preparatory Investigation Assist Inspectors with developing intelligence for criminal investigations. Prepare initial investigative research for possible referral. Compile background information, USPS/USPIS sourced information, and intelligence from third-party entities such as commercial databases, law enforcement agencies, and victims.
