Principal Data Engineer

• Analyze, design, develop, and support SAP HANA solutions
• Lead the design and development of data products for fast-paced special projects
• Build reusable data-platform components and share architecture and best practices
• Partner with business stakeholders, analysts, and data scientists to translate strategic questions into data products and pipelines
• Gather reporting requirements and build BI solutions supporting business decisions and efficient operations
• Develop and enhance HANA Calculation views
• Use Business Objects and PowerBI to develop interactive data visualizations
• Validate HANA views and reports and resolve issues before production deployment
• Perform design, testing, and metadata documentation
• Develop and provide demos and end-user training
• Identify reporting gaps and opportunities to expand SAP HANA and S/4 Embedded Analytics solutions

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and at least 5 years of relevant professional experience; 3 years with a Master's degree
• At least 2 years of experience with the design, development, and maintenance of HANA development and Business Objects, PowerBI, and/or Tableau Reporting solutions
• Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated SQL experience
• Experience mapping business/functional requirements into a technical design/solution
• Ability to communicate design issues/concerns and raise them to team/project lead in a timely manner
• Ability to develop and demo S/4 Embedded Analytics (virtual and recorded)
• Knowledge and development experience with Business Objects - Analysis Office/WEBI
• Knowledge and development experience in HANA Calculation Views/Scripts
• Ability to perform analysis to determine root cause of design/testing discrepancies
• Ability to work with various levels of audience (users, management, team counterparts)
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a virtual environment
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a potential U.S. Government clearance
• Preferred:
  Knowledge/Experience with SAP Cloud based solutions, Databricks, PowerBI/Tableau, and Python
• Preferred:
  Experience with enhancing S/4 Embedded Analytics Multi-Dimensional Reporting, Analytical List Page, Overview Pages, and KPIs
• Preferred:
  Large S/4 project experience
• Preferred:
  Knowledge of SAP methodology and deliverables and/or Agile methodology
• Preferred:
  Experience in technical business consulting
• Preferred:
  Knowledge of domain-driven data ownership concepts
• U.S. Citizenship is required for positions with a government clearance and certain other restricted positions

Demonstrates expertise in SAP HANA solutions, including design, development, and maintenance of HANA Calculation Views and Business Intelligence reporting tools like PowerBI and Business Objects. Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions while effectively communicating with stakeholders and providing training.
