Inova Fairfax Hospital is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse Unit Supervisor to join the team. This role will be Full‑Time, Day shift from 7:00 am - 7:00 pm with a rotating weekend. Sign‑on Bonus and Relocation Assistance are available for external candidates who qualify!

CATS Inpatient Treatment is a 25‑bed unit, medical detox for adult patients (ages 18 and up). At Inova Fairfax Hospital, our inpatient units are designed to provide clients with safety, structure, and stabilization. Our interdisciplinary team works together to ensure the best possible care for our patients. Therapeutic group activities, including creative art therapy, are an integral part of our patient‑centered approach.

The average nurse‑to‑patient ratio is 6:1, ensuring that you can provide personalized care to those who need it most.

The Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Supervisor serves as a front‑line leader who is accountable for delivering highly reliable results related to quality and best practices to improve the clinical operations of the unit. They embrace, use and understand the research behind nursing practice and quality tools. They support unit‑based shared governance and decentralized decision‑making structures and processes. They act as a role model who leads by example in delivering “Service Always” and in making patient experience a priority on units of responsibility.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high‑quality patient care in a 25‑bed addiction treatment unit.
  • Lead and mentor nursing staff, ensuring compliance with protocols and quality standards.
  • Participate in shared governance and support decentralized decision making.
  • Implement evidence‑based practices and improve clinical operations.
  • Maintain the nurse‑to‑patient ratio of 6:1, providing personalized care.
  • Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members and contribute to patient‑centered care.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse clinical experience.
  • BSN or ADN (ADN must complete BSN within 5 years of start date).
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification from the American Heart Association required.
  • RN licensed and eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Proficient in English; strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to display a caring demeanor towards others.
  • Proficient computer skills required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous critical care or acute care experience preferred.
