Job Description

The Tower Operating Room at Inova Fairfax Medical is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN to join our team full-time. Sign on bonus and relocation available.

Full time, 40 hours per week. Shift options: 2 12-hr shifts and 2 8-hr shifts per week or 5 8-hr shifts per week.

Tower OR is open 24/7 as the region's only Level 1 Trauma facility. Nurses must be available to take call and rotate weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts.

The team handles a wide range of procedures:
Neurosurgery, Spine, Orthopedics, Surgical Oncology, Urology, Plastics, Robotics, Gynecology, Pediatrics, ENT, General, Trauma, Thoracic, Vascular, Dental, OMFS, Colorectal, Hepatobiliary and Transplant. We average 55–75 patients per day.

• Perform comprehensive patient health assessments and synthesize data to provide individualized care plans.
• Advocate for patients and families, support their decision-making, and provide counseling.
• Coordinate patient care across the continuum from health promotion to end-of-life decisions.
• Address ethical, spiritual, and cultural needs and collaborate with staff to meet learning needs.

• Minimum 1 year of direct Operating Room (OR) experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Preferred: AORN's Periop 101 curriculum completion, CNOR certification, Level 1 Trauma experience.
• Education:
  
  BSN or ADN from an accredited school of nursing. ADNs must complete a BSN within 5 years of hire.
• License:
  Licensed as an RN in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Certification:
  Basic Life Support with the American Heart Association.
