Scheduling Requirements

40 hr/wk position, 50% call time

Compensation and Benefits
  • Competitive compensation ranging from $130,000 - $155,000 per year.
  • 100% employer-paid health, vision, and dental insurance for full-time employees.

Job Responsibilities
  • Understand and promote company ECMO staffing, education and transport offerings.
  • Coordinate with Integration Health executives, hospital leadership, and direct reports for emergencies.
  • Set up, prime, blood prime, and initiate ECMO support; train others in these skills.
  • Identify and diagnose ECMO circuit/component issues, propose and conduct safe alternatives.
  • Evaluate patients’ medical records and make recommendations based on physicians’ orders and goals.
  • Conduct ECMO didactic education and simulation (wet lab) as requested.
  • Maintain professionalism and communication with team members, hospital employees, patients, and families.
  • Collaborate with Nursing Leadership, Respiratory Care, Perfusion, and ECMO Medical Directors to define quality initiatives.
  • Comply with hospital initiatives, quality improvement projects, and safety standards.
  • Participate in mortality & morbidity review with medical directors.
  • Manage a staff of 25-40 ECLS specialists; may lead local ground transports.
  • Ensure equipment is in working order, disposable supplies are available, and additional equipment is ordered/rented as needed.
  • Provide didactic training, bedside orientation, and mentorship to new ECMO specialists.
  • Give feedback on performance and encourage professionalism and leadership.
  • Maintain appropriate ECMO scheduling and staffing levels.
  • Participate in program growth, new initiatives, committees, and meetings.
  • Ensure ECMO team members complete hospital-based annual training and competencies.
  • Determine educational activities for new procedures or equipment and document their conduct.
  • Coordinate new equipment utilization and training for end users.
  • Develop and review patient and family education materials.
  • Oversee training materials and competency checklists.
  • Represent Integration Health positively in all interactions.
  • Resolve client complaints through coordination of resources.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, respiratory care, or perfusion technology preferable.
  • Previous Pediatric ECMO Coordinator experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of anatomy and physiology.
  • Mastery level knowledge of extracorporeal life support.
  • Excellent communication skills with hospital employees, physicians, colleagues, and community professionals.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; ability to develop relationships quickly.
  • Competency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Preference for coordinator/primer experience; otherwise management, lead RT, or charge nurse experience considered.
Physical Requirements
  • Effective communication and performance in stressful situations.
  • Ability to see, hear, stand, walk, stoop, bend, and squat for prolonged periods.
  • Read, speak, and write English.
  • Ability to move or reposition patients of any weight or size with assistance.
  • Work independently for extended periods without leaving the patient care area.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust.
