Registered Nurse; RN Pediatric Emergency Behavioral Health; Level 1 Trauma

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Behavioral Health RN to support pediatric behavioral health patients in the Level 1 Trauma Pediatric Emergency Department at Inova Children's Hospital. Eligible nurses qualify for sign‑on and relocation bonuses.

Full‑time, day shift (7 am – 7 pm). During orientation, nurses will rotate through all shifts (days, mids, and nights).

• Provide knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination, understanding patient, family, and team dynamics.
• Conduct all patient care in a patient‑ and family‑centered manner.

• Utilize standards, guidelines, and pathways for care delivery.

• Minimum of one year of Registered Nurse clinical experience in an acute care setting.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program. If holding an Associate Degree (ADN), must earn a BSN within five years of start date.
• RN license, or eligibility to practice in Virginia.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Proficient in English; strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and a caring demeanor toward others.
• Proficient computer skills.

• Two or more years of behavioral health and/or pediatric ED RN experience.
• CEN or ACLS certification.
