Position Type: Full-Time

Shift Available: Night Shift (Rotating Weekends)

Salary Scale: $41.42-$62.13

Dominion Hospital, the only freestanding mental health facility in Northern VA, is seeking an experienced Mental Health Clinical Nurse Coordinator - RN to ensure and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care and coordination of all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift.

The Mental Health Clinical Nurse Coordinator - RN works in collaboration with other members of the management team. The CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures, serves as a resource person for staff, and models a commitment to the organizations vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

What Youll Do
  • Coordinates and oversees the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Provides clinical leadership, guidance, and support to nursing staff while ensuring appropriate patient care assignments and adherence to established policies and procedures.
  • Promotes patient safety, quality outcomes, and regulatory compliance through the implementation of evidence-based practices and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Assists with patient admission, discharge, and care coordination processes to support efficient patient throughput and positive patient outcomes.
  • Monitors unit operations, equipment maintenance, and compliance with accreditation, regulatory, and organizational standards.
  • Fosters a positive patient and employee experience by supporting customer service initiatives, service recovery efforts, and a patient-first culture.
  • Coaches, mentors, and develops staff through training, performance feedback, conflict resolution, and support of employee engagement initiatives.
  • Participates in recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, performance management, and disciplinary processes to support workforce effectiveness.
  • Collaborates with physicians, leadership, and subject matter experts to promote teamwork, operational excellence, and organizational goals.
  • Assists with staffing, scheduling, labor management, inventory control, and resource utilization to support efficient department operations.
  • Represents the organization professionally within the community and participates in organizational and patient-focused events and initiatives.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education: Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma — Required. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing — Preferred

Licesure: Current, active, and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment or a multistate compact license, as applicable.

Certifications: Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers required and Crisis Prevention Institute required as a part of the general hospital orientation.

Experience: 1+ years of applicable experience — Required

Salary/ Wage Range

Compensation for the role will depend on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
