Registered Nurse – Night Shift (Full Time)

Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Medical/Surgical Unit Full Time on the Night Shift.

Patient population consists of individuals with a variety of diagnoses, including ED admissions and Medical/Surgical patients.

• Perform patient assessments to collect basic data and follow written plans of care, standards and guidelines while utilizing pathways under the supervision of an experienced RN.
• Use assessment data and patient preferences to identify patient care needs.
• Organize, prioritize, and deliver patient care to assigned patients using Inova's Nursing Professional Practice Model and Care Delivery Model to achieve desired outcomes. Monitor progress and adjust plans accordingly.
• Provide compassionate, empathetic hands‑on care while maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.
• State rationale for clinical decisions based on educational knowledge, principles, and evidence‑based practices.
• Work efficiently within the healthcare team to achieve maximum productivity and identified outcomes.
• Accurately document all patient care activities per documentation standards and seek assistance to improve documentation skills.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and meetings as an active member of the healthcare team.
• Integrate novice nursing abilities with new knowledge and incorporate and transfer skills into the delivery of safe, high‑quality patient care. Seek feedback, mentoring, and suggestions from colleagues to implement change and enhance care.
• Attend and participate in all learning sessions assigned for successful completion of the Registered Nurse (RN) Fellowship, completing all assignments on time and demonstrating ability to apply them in clinical settings.
• Possibly serve as a preceptor after completing orientation and competency requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Education:
  
  BSN from an accredited nursing school. If holding an ADN, must complete a BSN within five years of start date.
• Experience:
  
  Minimum of one year of registered nurse clinical experience.
• Certification:
  Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse.
