Overview

Mobile Imaging Veterinary Ultrasound (MiVU) is seeking a passionate veterinarian to join our mobile ultrasound team serving Falls Church, VA and the surrounding region. MiVU, established in 2012, is a growing mobile veterinary service providing diagnostic ultrasound services to animal hospitals across Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia, Florida, and Tennessee

.

You will work directly with primary care veterinarians and collaborate on cases with specialists, delivering timely, high‑quality diagnostic imaging and support to hospitals and their patients.

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations including abdominal and thoracic exams
• Pregnancy evaluation
• Thyroid and parathyroid evaluation
• Cryptorchid exams
• Ocular exams
• General health screening
• Perform full diagnostic echocardiograms to be sent to a boarded cardiologist for interpretation
• Perform ultrasound-guided fluid cavity centesis
• Perform ultrasound-guided biopsies, including tru-cut tissue core biopsies (14ga) and fine-needle biopsies
• Prepare accurate, thorough, and timely medical reports

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university
• Minimum of 5 years of clinical veterinary experience
• Ultrasound experience highly preferred

• Up to 4 months of hands-on training with MiVU veterinarians
• Ongoing collaboration with SVP internists, radiologists, and cardiologists
• Continuing education course support

The physical demands described here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. The teammate may be required to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The role includes moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing up to 40 pounds without assistance. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Ability to operate a computer and related equipment is required. Sitting may include up to 3 hours per day in a vehicle. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
