About The Position

This position is primarily responsible for providing direction and leadership to the front of the house and assisting with implementing the GHBC self-directed dining program. Incumbent accountable for maintaining high standards in service, resident relations, costs controls, staffing, safety, sanitation, and training. The incumbent is also responsible for recording, reporting, and maintaining all operational and sales stats for Venues and Catering.

The incumbent is responsible for managing the Matrix Care Retail Tracker POS and On-Line Ordering Platform.

Job Duties
  • Directly responsible for Supporting the Assistant Director of Dining with all front-of-the-house, catering, and revenue-generating operations for all Dining Service Venues within GHBC.
  • Responsible for communication, accounting, processing/training new/existing employees, and payroll duties.
  • Supports the Assistant Director of Dining Services with departmental activities (e.g. meal service in all venues, customer service training, and resident engagement).
  • Participates and attends scheduled meetings with dining service teams and resident dining committee.
  • During meal periods, circulate in dining areas to field resident/guest comments on service and food quality.
  • Manages the front of the house's scheduling and job duties and oversees payroll.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, orienting, training, evaluating, and counseling all staff when assigned or needed.
  • Responsible for cash handling and record-keeping concerning retail operations and or catering functions.
  • Implements and maintains cash handling standards as outlined in the GHI Policies and Procedures Manual to eliminate theft of services or Company funds.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures as evidenced through the local health department and third-party audits.
Requirements/Qualifications
  • Minimum of five (5) years food service management; experience with retail or upscale dining experience a plus.
  • Experience in retirement living food management is a plus.
  • Must have solid understanding of cash handling and tracking procedures.
  • Serve Safe Food Protection certification.
  • Must have solid experience with financial management.
  • Must have experience with training and development of front line staff.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point and Publisher is a must.
  • Must have experience developing dining programs and implementing procedures.
  • Clear understanding of the flow of operations for a dining establishment.
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data and share findings with appropriate management levels.
  • Must have outstanding customer service skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.
