This position is located in the Office of Security (OS), Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR), U. S. Department of Justice. Incumbent directs analysis, adjudication, and management of personnel security investigations, reporting, compliance and systems activities and provides expert technical guidance to management. This is a Competitive Service position; additional positions may be filled from this announcement within 90 days of certificate issuance.

To qualify for the position of Supervisory Personnel Security Specialist, at GS-0080-14, you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below. You MUST meet all qualification requirements, including time-in-grade, by the 06/26/2026 of this announcement.

Minimum Qualification for the GS-14 Level
  • Formulating, managing, implementing, and administering personnel security policies and procedures.
  • Developing and presenting training information or facilitating discussions about issue cases and related matters with other employees or with other personnel security professionals at training events and similar group settings.
  • Overseeing reviews of results of national security and public trust investigations of contract and federal personnel in connection with employment or continued employment.
  • Overseeing the development of justifications to support decisions involving complex adjudicative issues.
  • Experience in managing personnel security program activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply new developments and innovative solutions to a variety of highly complex and extremely sensitive security problems.
