The Robotics Software Leadisresponsibleforsettingthetechnicaldirectionfor HITT’sroboticssoftwareteamandleadingthedevelopmentofsystemsdesignedforcomplex,dynamic,andunstructuredconstructionjobsites.

Thisroleguidesinitiativesacrossthefulldevelopmentlifecycle,fromproof-of-conceptprototypesthroughscaledfielddeployment.

Asahands-on,product-mindedengineeringleader,theRobotics Software Leadownsthesoftwarestack ,managesandmentorsengineers,coordinatesstrategicco-developmentpartnerships,supportstheroboticsR&Ddevelopmentroadmap,andestablishesthearchitecture,infrastructure,andengineeringpracticesthatempowertheteamtoexperimentquicklyandscalesuccessfulsolutions. Thisteammemberreportstothe Robotics Leadandispartof HITT’sRobotics

The Robotics Team ’smissionistosupportourprojectteams,transformourindustry,andbringrobotstoeveryjobsite. Theidealcandidatehasledsoftwareteamsthathavedevelopedanddeployedcomplexroboticssystemsindemandingreal-world environments.

Theyareequallycomfortablemovingquicklytovalidateanearlyconceptwhileapplyingtheengineeringdisciplinerequiredtomatureaprototypeintoareliable,safe,andmaintainablefieldsystem.

Theycombinesystems-levelfieldroboticsexpertisewithaproductmindset,clearprojectleadership,andapracticalunderstandingofthe tradeoffs and dependencies among software, sensors, compute, networking, controls, mechanical hardware, and field operations.

Thisroleofferstheopportunitytodefineafoundationalsoftwareplatform,growahigh-performingengineeringteam,anddirectlyinfluencehowHITTdevelopsanddeploysroboticsinthefield. RESPONSIBILITIES Technical Leadership Own the architecture and technical direction of the robotics software stack, including system interfaces, design standards, and technical review practices. Ownthesoftwareinfrastructurethatsupportsdevelopment,simulation,automated testing,continuousintegrationanddelivery,deployment,observability,data collection,andfleetsupport. Guidetechnicaldecisionsacrossautonomy,perception,manipulation,operatorinterfaces,embeddedcompute,networking,simulation,andcloud-connectedservices. Leadeffortstointegrateandextendthird-partytechnologiesviaAPIs,SDKs,middleware,andothersoftwareinterfaces. Ensuresoftwaredesignsaccountforsafety,cybersecurity,maintainability,degradedoperatingmodes,andtheenvironmentalconstraintsofactiveconstructionsites. EstablishstandardsforAI-assistedandagenticsoftwaredevelopment,includinghumanreview,automated testing,evaluation,andappropriatetechnicalguardrails. Remainahands-ontechnicalcontributor includingarchitecturereviews,code reviews, prototyping,system integration,anddiagnosisofdifficultcross-stackissues. Travel to active construction sites and participate directly in testing, deployment, and operational support.

Team Leadership and Delivery  Lead,manage,andmentorateamofsoftwareengineers,settingclearexpectationsandsupportingtheirtechnicalandprofessionaldevelopment. Coordinate day-to-dayR&Dworkbytranslatingprioritiesintoactionableplans,assigning ownership,trackingdependencies,andresolvingblockers. Establishengineeringplans,milestones,releasecriteria,andqualityexpectationsformultipleconcurrentroboticsinitiatives. Useproductmanagementpracticestotranslateuserneeds,fieldobservations,andbusinessprioritiesintorequirements,backlogs,experiments,andreleaseplans. Promotedisciplinedsoftwareengineeringpractices,including documentation,version control,automated testing,CI/CD,configuration management,andreproducibledevelopmentenvironments. Supportteamgrowththroughthoughtfulstaffing,onboarding,feedback,andknowledgesharing. Partnerships and Cross-Functional Coordination Leadthe technical delivery of co-developmentinitiativeswithtechnologypartnersandvendors,including defining scope,interfaces,milestones,risks,acceptance criteria,an downership. Evaluatethird-partytechnologiesandrecommendwhenHITTshouldbuild,buy,adapt,orpartnerbasedontechnicalfit,lifecyclecost,schedule,risk,and supportability.…
