Logistics Generalist – Full Performance

OverviewThe Logistics Generalist is responsible for adhering to regulations, guidelines, and SOPs of the Office of Logistics and the Sponsor’s supply chain regulations; coordinating closely with the senior Logistics Staff officer or their representative; administering the purchase of materials and services; directing the complete transport process for people and goods; overseeing materials management; coordinating and planning facility services; tracking cost issues and personnel resources;
and administering elements of multi‑faceted programs. The role may involve travel to CONUS or OCONUS locations to support temporary logistics requirements.
- Assisting with purchasing of materials and services within the area of assignment, including ordering through internal and external sources and validating customer requirements against regulations and cost estimates.
- Reconciling routine to moderately complex financial statements to ensure expenses are properly recorded; reconciling accounts payable to ensure accuracy and funding availability; reviewing bills/invoices for accuracy.
- Coordinating and transporting material and people, completing proper transportation documentation, learning shipping/receiving processes, and arranging transportation of material.
- Arranging for appropriate stock levels of packing material, boxes, tape, and other items for shipment of equipment, including fragile equipment.
- Preparing material for shipment, including safe handling and packaging per Sponsor standards.
- Arranging for courier and/or driver services, coordinating with the appropriate transportation office.
- Researching best transportation options, determining best shipping methods based on customer, cargo type, and or consignee timeline requirements, and ensuring timely delivery via an agreed transport method.
- Coordinating and collaborating with stakeholders to meet mission requirements.
- Obtaining pre‑approval from the Logistics Support component/office Chief of Logistics Support for any freight/aviation and planning requirements that require coordination with the Sponsor’s Transportation Fusion Center or other entities.
- Responding to courier and driver requests and resolving scheduling problems.
- Maintaining inventories of goods and materials per Sponsor regulations; processing inventory requests; validating receipt of goods; and updating property records.
- Managing a fleet of vehicles, maintaining a Table of Vehicular Allowances, tracking database, ensuring vehicles are mission capable and located as needed.
- Fulfilling property accountability and auditability actions; planning and conducting property inventories; reconciling discrepancies; ensuring proper disposal per Sponsor regulations and SOPs.
- Distributing parking permits, WEX cards, license plates, E‑ZPass devices and other items; serving as Responsible Officer of record when required.
- Coordinating office moves, renovations, and maintenance with Facilities Management; establishing schedules and procedures; ensuring adequate staffing.
- Assisting Facilities Management with renovations by liaising with customers and construction workers.
- Scheduling routine office maintenance in coordination with Facilities Management.
- Facilitating computer movements, connections, and phone service by working with Facilities Management and IT Support.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
- Exceptional customer service skills, willingness to help, and flexibility across tasks.
- Extensive knowledge of Sponsor’s logistics and supply chain processes, policies, regulations, and authorities.
