Position: Motor Vehicle Operator - Full Performance (Top Secret) - Temporary

Responsibilities

Full performance MVOs are responsible for the transportation of Sponsor personnel by car, van, shuttle or motorcoach bus to various government and commercial buildings throughout the WMA and beyond when needed.

  • Safely and securely transport Sponsor customers based on requests from the TSC Dispatch team.
  • Operate cars, vans, shuttles, and/or motorcoach buses to transport personnel.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of current traffic, parking, and safety rules.
  • Ensure passenger safety by observing all traffic laws, anticipating hazardous conditions, and practicing defensive driving techniques.
  • Maintain communication with TSC Dispatch and immediately report all incidents that may impact operations.
  • Utilize maps and GPS units provided by the Sponsor to plan efficient routes and complete pick‑ups and drop‑offs on schedule.
  • Analyze each driver assignment to verify passenger count, locations, routes, and vehicle needs prior to execution.
  • Promptly submit completed driver assignment metrics and tickets to the TSC Dispatch team.
  • Exhibit heightened situational awareness appropriate to the IC environment and take appropriate actions.
  • Before transporting passengers, perform basic maintenance and safety checks:
    • Check fuel, water, oil levels.
    • Check tire pressure and belts as necessary.
    • Change flat tires as necessary.
    • Wash and clean the exterior and interior of vehicle regularly.
    • Ensure all DOT regulations and safety checks are met prior to operating vehicle.
  • Mentoring/Training:
    • Assist in updating SOPs for training new or junior MVOs and maintaining proficiency.
    • Assist new contractor MVOs on all MVO functions and responsibilities, including customer service expectations, professionalism, and situational awareness.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent communication with coworkers, customers, and managers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to develop rapport at all levels.
  • Customer service skills and ability to elicit cooperation and support.
  • Professionalism in attitude, dress, and decorum appropriate to seniority of transported customers.
  • Considerable knowledge of WMA and location of government buildings.
  • Considerable knowledge of traffic, parking, and safety laws.
  • Knowledge of Sponsor‑unique policies, security, and regulations regarding secure transportation.
  • Extensive vehicle experience to spot maintenance issues and report them.
  • Experience operating diverse motor vehicles of varying tonnage and axles (cars, vans, shuttles, charter buses).
  • Proficient at reading and interpreting road maps.
  • Experience using cell phone and tablet communication systems for dispatch.
  • Willingness to mentor others and apply experience.
  • Willingness to expand driving capabilities to larger vehicles and more challenging runs.
Work Environment

Work is performed in all types of weather and traffic conditions and may include weekends, holidays, and extended evening, late night, or early morning hours. Professional dress is required for all MVOs.

Qualifications
  • Active Top Secret U.S. Government clearance with polygraph; U.S. citizenship required.
  • Valid driver’s license and Class B Commercial Driver’s License with “P” endorsement issued through the state of legal residence.
  • Clean driving record (no more than –4 points, no suspensions or revocations, no serious violations, no alcohol‑related program participation).
  • Minimum of two (2) years of driving experience, including at least six (6) months of passenger shuttle or charter bus driving.
  • Yearly DOT card update required.
  • Willingness to obtain training and certification for disabled passenger transport (ADA).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Compensation

U.S.: $34.00 – $38.00 per hour (expected salary may vary based on experience and market data).
