Responsibilities
  • Greet customers promptly and professionally, assessing their vehicle service needs with enthusiasm and clarity
  • Write detailed service estimates by diagnosing vehicle issues through automotive diagnostics and mechanic experience
  • Communicate repair recommendations effectively, including oil changes, brake repairs, transmission work, tire services, suspension, alignments, shocks & struts, diesel engine repairs, air brake systems, and auto body repairs
  • Upsell additional services such as wheel alignments, tire rotations, or transmission diagnostics to maximize customer value
  • Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of services while maintaining high-quality standards
  • Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments efficiently while maintaining integrity in cash handling procedures
  • Maintain thorough documentation of all service work performed and communicate clearly with customers about their vehicle status and future maintenance needs
Skills
  • Must have Mitchell experience
  • Proven dealership experience or background in automotive service management with a strong understanding of automotive repair processes
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems including transmissions, oil changes, brakes, suspensions, shocks & struts, tire services, diesel engines, auto body repair, and air brake systems
  • Skilled in automotive diagnostics and auto estimating software to generate accurate repair quotes
  • Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues in an understandable manner
  • Strong sales aptitude with a focus on upselling additional services to enhance customer satisfaction and shop revenue
  • Experience in service writing combined with mechanic or technician background is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with vehicle maintenance procedures such as alignment adjustments and suspension repairs is a plus
