About the Role

TAVO Packaging is seeking an experienced Controller to lead all accounting, financial reporting, and compliance activities for our growing manufacturing operation. This role is a key member of our leadership team and plays a critical part in driving financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and strategic decision‑making.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the annual operating budget process and machine hour rate forecasting
• Manage all financial reporting (monthly, quarterly, annual)
• Analyze raw materials, labor, and overhead costs to identify savings opportunities
• Support capital project planning and financial execution
• Oversee billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and credit limits
• Manage tax compliance, including payroll and corporate filings (Paycom)
• Lead annual physical inventory and cycle counting activities (Epicor)
• Administer the 401(k) plan, including annual audits
• Coordinate business insurance renewals and audits
• Ensure full compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and financial regulations
• Partner with outside financial entities for audits, banking, and reporting
• Provide leadership, coaching, and development to the Accounting team

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing (non‑durable goods or packaging preferred)
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, general ledger, AP/AR, and tax processes
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, modeling, XLOOKUP, etc.)
• ERP experience; Epicor preferred
• Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills
• Ability to build positive relationships across all levels of the organization

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• On‑site role in a manufacturing environment
• Exposure to paper dust, chemicals, and variable temperatures
• Occasional walking the shop floor and warehouse
• Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
• PPE required in production areas
