Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Network Technician to join our growing team within infrastructure operations. In this role you will drive the stability and sustainability of next‑generation networks and help develop innovative ways to automate and scale our network.
Key Job Responsibilities- Build out first level router‑aggregates, build the console network for new rooms, and support network scaling projects.
- Manage work and priorities through ticketing systems and workflows to complete customer requests and projects.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles.
- Troubleshoot networking, routing, and inter‑connectivity issues, including network device configuration and low‑level application interaction.
- Troubleshoot cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords.
- Specify power and cooling requirements and ensure hardware racking/stacking for new equipment.
- Participate in migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.
- Move and lift computer equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Maintain up to 60 % travel within the geographical work area; additional travel may be required, including internationally.
- Ensure compliance with reasonable accommodations for physical requirements.
The Philadelphia Region is expanding into an ML Cluster and the team covers the entire Pennsylvania region. Travel is required to move capacity where it is needed.
Basic Qualifications- 1+ years of computer networking experience.
- 1+ years of Linux operating systems experience.
- Experience facilitating data center capacity management.
- Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds.
- Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Can work in cramped spaces or in elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines.
- Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
- Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
- Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment).
The base salary range for this position is $30.00 – $54.00 USD hourly. The total compensation package includes sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
