Position SummaryThe Facility Cleaner is responsible for performing thorough, deep‑cleaning and daily sanitation of all areas of the gym, including locker rooms, bathrooms, workout floors, and equipment. This role is physically demanding and requires the ability to work independently, follow strict safety procedures, and adhere to all URGE FITNESS cleaning and facility protocols.
Key Responsibilities- Perform deep scrubbing and detailed cleaning of the entire facility, including locker rooms, bathrooms, workout floors, and equipment.
- Clean toilets, sinks, showers, and floors.
- Clean mirrors, counters, fixtures, and all fitness equipment (cardio machines, strength equipment, benches, mats).
- Mop, vacuum, sweep, and sanitize all floor surfaces.
- Clean and disinfect high‑touch areas such as door handles, railings, lockers, and seating.
- Restock hygiene and janitorial supplies as needed (paper towels, toilet paper, soap, sanitizer).
- Safely use a variety of cleaning tools and products, including multi‑purpose cleaners, floor cleaners, disinfectants, and bleach‑based solutions.
- Follow all product usage instructions, dilution guidelines, and safety standards.
- Use gloves at all times when handling cleaning chemicals or performing sanitation duties.
- Properly store cleaning supplies and equipment after use.
Staff are NOT AUTHORIZED to enter locker rooms designated for the opposite gender without speaking directly with the Manager on Duty and ensuring the locker room is fully cleared of all members prior to entry. Failure to confirm lockers are cleared before entering is a serious safety concern for both staff and members. Any violation of this policy will result in immediate termination.

- Stand for the entire duration of the shift.
- Frequently bend, squat, kneel, and move up and down.
- Perform repetitive motions.
- Lift, carry, push, or pull 45+ pounds comfortably.
- Work on knees and in confined spaces (bathrooms, showers, equipment areas).
- Maintain consistent attention to detail and cleanliness standards.
- Follow all written and verbal cleaning schedules and checklists.
- Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply shortages to management immediately.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Be dependable, punctual, and professional.
- Follow all URGE FITNESS policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Flexible scheduling based on facility needs.
- Morning, day, evening, and/or weekend shifts may be required.
- Prior janitorial or cleaning experience preferred (but not required).
- Ability to follow instructions and safety protocols precisely.
- Comfortable working in a gym environment.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to work efficiently and thoroughly.
Fitness facility with heavy foot traffic; exposure to cleaning chemicals (PPE provided and required); fast‑paced, active environment.
