We want the right Maintenance Repair Mechanic to join us at Ryder to work on Heavy Duty Vehicles.
Benefits- Hourly Pay: $28.00 per hour
- Certification Bonus: $100 per new ASE certification (up to $700)
- Quarterly Bonus:
Up to $500 every quarter - Schedule:
Tuesday–Saturday (Second Shift Tuesday–Thursday 2:30 pm – 11:00 pm, Friday 12:00 pm – 8:30 pm, Saturday 6:00 am – 2:30 pm) - Medical, Dental, Vision after 30 days

Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check, a road test, and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.
Requirements- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or Technical Certification / Post‑secondary degree or technical certifications preferred
- Basic tools required
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including:
- Routine preventative maintenance—oil changes, brake and tire work (required)
- Two (2) years or more of classroom training and work experience (preferred)
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
- Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire
- Pass a Ryder drug test
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)
- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
- Conduct standard vehicle maintenance
- Perform component inspections and repairs
- Execute preventive maintenance
- Diagnose mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers when applicable
- Identify root causes of failures and perform repairs
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint
- Use shop management system and electronic documentation
- Adhere to federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
- Perform other support duties as needed, including service island support
