Long Term Substitute Teacher - Early Childhood

Winfield Children’s House is seeking a kind and nurturing individual to act as a long term substitute teacher in one of our Early Childhood (3‑6 year old) classrooms to cover a planned maternity leave.

The position is full‑time with an anticipated start date in mid‑September, running until the start of our winter break on December 22, and will include a fixed schedule of daily hours between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. with a paid 30‑minute lunch break.

Our goal is to provide overlap time with the teacher scheduled to be out in order to allow time to learn routines and integrate with the classroom team.

We are looking for a thoughtful, nurturing, conscientious individual who has worked with young children and is passionate about Early Childhood education. A Montessori credential or experience in a Montessori preschool is a plus, but not a requirement. Most important is a recognition of the importance of a solid Early Childhood experience for young children and a curiosity to learn how we provide that in a Montessori setting.

You will be part of a three‑person classroom team, including a credentialed Montessori teacher. You will also be part of the wider Winfield community consisting of two toddler classrooms for children 16 months through 3 years and four Early Childhood classrooms for children 3‑6 years old. Winfield currently serves approximately 100 students from 16 months through 6 years old across these classrooms.

Our full‑time Outdoor Educator and Art teacher round out our talented and caring teaching staff.
