Clancy Construction is a growing design-build firm on Cape Cod specializing in residential projects. We’re seeking a detail-oriented, proactive accounting professional to support our daily financial operations, tax preparation, and internal reporting in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Position Summary

The ideal candidate will oversee both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes, assist with tax preparation and general accounting tasks, and ensure accurate financial recordkeeping. This role requires strong proficiency in Quick Books and Excel, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work closely with both internal teams and external partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and verify invoices and check requests for accuracy and proper project approval
  • Process invoices, payments, and expense reports in a timely and accurate manner
  • Maintain vendor records and respond to vendor inquiries
  • Input and categorize company credit card expenses with accurate job-cost alignment
  • Manage customer billing, collections, and payment applications
  • Reconcile bank statements, vendor accounts, and job cost reports
  • Prepare financial summaries and assist with monthly closings
  • Support CPA with tax documentation and year-end reporting (including 1099-NEC & 1096 filings)
  • Maintain organized, up-to-date accounting records
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, clients, and internal team members
  • Input payroll data and assist with payroll-related tasks
  • Support external and internal audits with required documentation
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience (construction industry a plus)
  • Proficiency in Quick Books and Microsoft Excel required
  • Experience with tax preparation and reconciliations preferred
  • Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Compensation

$25.00 - $33.00 per hour, based on experience
