Program OverviewTen– to twelve‑week research experience in Falmouth, Massachusetts under the auspices of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI). Students pursue an independent research project guided by senior or scientific technical staff, participate in seminars, and join a hands‑on ocean sampling cruise aboard the R/V Tioga.
Eligibility / Requirements- Completed junior year at a college or university.
- Graduate before the internship starts.
- Interest or passion in ocean sciences, marine policy, or oceanographic engineering.
- Will provide a mid‑summer oral progress report.
- Will prepare a written report of research findings.
- Will present results via poster or public oral format.
- Enrolled in a three‑year bachelor’s program (or second year in the UK).
- Enrolled in a five‑year combined bachelor’s/master’s program (third year).
