2nd shift (2:30 pm - 11:00 pm) – 12 months per year – 40 hours per week (Weekend swing shift will be attached to this schedule)
2025‑2026 School Year

• High school diploma preferred.
• Certificate of good health signed by a licensed physician, upon hire.
• Ability to read basic operating instructions and reports.
• Ability to use online/technology systems to operate maintenance equipment, including furnace, tools, alarm systems, emails, online training, etc.
• Demonstrated aptitude for successful fulfillment of tasks assigned.
• Such other alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.

• Perform daily tasks in cleaning and maintaining a school building and surrounding area.
• Usually works on a shift basis with crew or supervisor.
• Presence in cafeteria for all lunch periods.
• Follows orders on what is to be done and in sequence of custodial operations in connection with any of the following typical duties:
• Sweep, mop, and dust floors, stairs, classrooms, shop and assembly area, lavatories, furniture and outside steps. Collect trash, empty wastebaskets, fill barrels; check roof for debris; wash windows, glass doors, blinds and walls; take care of vending machine supplies; wash, strip, wax and polish floors by powered equipment; check all lavatories, clean fixtures, replace soap and paper products; vacuum clean rugs, carpets, and drapes;
  
  remove stains and spillage; remove ice/snow from walks and steps; check for fire hazards and water damage; replace broken lights and damaged hardware; temporarily board up broken windows; do routine cleaning of boiler room, equipment and floor area; occasional lifting and moving of furniture.
• Custodians are considered emergency personnel and are expected to report to work if called in for said situations. These situations could include snow removal, water leak cleanup and any other emergency situation that may occur.
• Such other duties as may from time to time be assigned by the Principal or Head Custodian.

Salary:
In accordance with the Custodian contract.
