Purpose of Position:
Delivers patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Administers and monitors patient responses to all medications. Directs and guides patient care, teaching and activities of ancillary personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing within the realm of Hospital Policy. Maintains and delivers the highest quality customer service standards.
- Utilize the nursing process in caring for patients by maintaining relevant, accurate and current patient records as evidenced by Nursing PI activities.
- Document assessment of the patient throughout the hospital admission including physical, psychological, and social dimensions and discharge plans. Summarize assessment data and initiate plan of care with communication of pertinent data to allied patient care providers.
- Understand, assume, and demonstrate proficiency in the role of charge nurse.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Computerized Nursing Informatics (information systems).
- Assume role of resource person regarding patient care, orientation and teaching staff.
- Participate in identification of the aspects of care for the patient, indicators used to monitor the quality and appropriateness of care, and the evaluation of that care. Adhere to safety, blood/body fluid policies and procedures.
- Assess personal learning development needs. Maintain documentation of current and ongoing professional development activities. Regularly update knowledge of techniques and regulations appropriate to the age of the patient served.
- Show willingness to participate on Nursing Committees.
- Represent hospital in the community and within the hospital by maintaining confidentiality regarding patients and hospital matters and by presenting the hospital in a manner that will best market the services provided.
- Perform other work-related duties and activities as assigned or requested by the immediate supervisor.
- Registered Nurse, ICU – Grade: FHMNA
30/MN1, Job Code: 00330 (Per Diem: 00331) - Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Graduate of a School of Nursing.
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- CCHC Pharmacology Exam (successfully passed).
- CCHC Basic Arrhythmia Exam (successfully passed).
- One to two years of recent critical care experience.
- Completion of an approved De‑escalation Certification Course (obtain within 4 months).
- Preferred:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). - Preferred: CCRN Certification.
- Per Diem:
Two years of previous acute care ICU services department experience.
72PP (36 Hours Per Week), Rotating Evenings/Nights, 7p-7a, Every Other Weekend & Rotating Holidays.

PayHourly: $38.36 - $78.11.
