About the Role

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children and young people? We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Senior Residential Support Worker to join a well-established children’s residential home in Waterlooville.

This is a key leadership role where you’ll lead shifts, support and mentor staff, and help create a safe, nurturing, and stable environment where children can thrive.

Shifts & Working Pattern

* Shifts are based on the needs of the home

* Rota provided 6 weeks in advance

* 1 weekend on / 1 weekend off

Shift patterns include:

* Early: 7:00am – 2:30pm

* Late: 2:30pm – 10:00pm

* Long Day: 7:00am – 10:00pm

Sleep-ins:

* Adhoc basis

* £51.00 per sleep-in

Key Responsibilities

* Lead and plan daily shifts, ensuring children’s individual needs are met

* Act as a role model and mentor to junior staff

* Support the development and implementation of individual care plans

* Maintain a safe, homely, and nurturing environment

* Manage delegated responsibilities and support regulatory compliance

* Uphold safeguarding standards at all times

* Work closely with families and external professionals

* Participate in the on-call rota (1–2 days per week)

Requirements

* NVQ Level 3 minimum in Children’s Residential Care (or equivalent)

* Minimum 2 years’ experience in a children’s residential setting

* Experience supporting children with learning difficulties and challenging behaviours

* Full UK Driving Licence

* Flexible approach to working patterns
