Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant
Audit Managers may serve as the engagement lead or work under the direct supervision of a Senior Manager, depending on the nature and complexity of the client engagement. This role requires strong communication skills, as Audit Managers interact regularly with both clients and firm team members. Excellent organizational skills are essential to successfully coordinate multiple engagements simultaneously while meeting established deadlines.
Audit Managers are responsible for training and leading Senior Associates and Associates by assigning work, reviewing completed tasks, providing constructive feedback, and directing necessary revisions.
Serve as part of the audit team to deliver high-quality engagement services to clients.
- Lead audit engagement teams to ensure all components of the audit are completed, including:
- Gathering information from clients
- Leading planning meetings
- Performing risk assessments
- Overseeing fieldwork procedures
- Managing the audit through final report issuance
- Supervise, review, train, and mentor Senior Associates and Associates
- Apply sound judgment and analytical skills to prepare and review accounting reports and financial analyses aimed at improving clients’ internal controls and accounting procedures
- Manage and monitor ongoing client relationships and needs
- Serve as a primary day-to-day contact for clients on accounting matters
- Provide regular feedback and updates to Senior Managers and Principles
- Participate in business development initiatives
- Utilize cloud-based technology and audit software effectively
- Identify opportunities to strengthen client relationships and cross-sell additional BMA services
- Achieves high levels of client satisfaction
- Uses firm technology efficiently and effectively
- Demonstrates strong mentoring abilities in alignment with firm Career Development guidelines
- Exhibits strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ensures accurate recording and review of accounting transactions
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with clients and colleagues
- Bachelor’s degree in Business required;
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred - 5+ years of accounting experience required, including experience managing staff; public accounting experience preferred
- CPA or CMA license preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP and GAAS
- Proficient in technology and accounting software
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Collaborative team player
- Innovative thinker with strong problem-solving abilities
