The Financial Accountant will provide support to the accounting department by managing daily accounting tasks. This role will be part of a team of professionals working to provide accurate, timely financial reporting of the Company’s financial results. Analyzing financial statements, reconciling account balances, calculating complex accounting estimates and providing various financial support to our stores are a large part of the financial accountant’s day-to‑day work cycle.

Duties Include:

  • Analyze monthly financial statements and present financial results to supervisor and various levels within the company.
  • Perform account reconciliations/reviews.
  • Develop/calculate significant, complex accounting estimates.
  • Calculate bonuses and profit sharing estimates based on personnel compensation plans.
  • Assists in the monthly and yearly closing processes.
  • Responsible for recording and reviewing recurring journal entries.
  • Assists in the preparation and execution of the companies’ compliance and regulatory audits.
  • Identifies and reports accounting related issues to appropriate management.
  • Exemplifies teamwork and camaraderie.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook.
  • Conduct self in the presence of customers and community so as to present a professional image of RDO Equipment Co.
  • Proactively seek and participate in available company-sponsored training, in an effort to develop and advance knowledge base and skill set.
  • Participate in all company/location driven communication efforts, including open book meetings, huddles, department meetings and other related efforts.
  • Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner.

Specific Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • 2+ years of work related experience
  • A general knowledge of accounting principles required
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Team Player
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Candidates must have valid work authorization and be able to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship
