Tax and/or Audit Manager

Tax and/or Audit Managers may serve as the engagement lead or work under the direct supervision of Senior Managers, depending on the nature of the client engagement. They must possess strong communication skills, as they regularly interact with clients and firm team members. Tax and/or Audit Managers also need excellent organizational skills to coordinate multiple engagements simultaneously while meeting established deadlines.

They train and lead Senior Associates and Associates, provide direction on work to be performed, review completed work, deliver constructive feedback, and oversee any necessary revisions.

  • Work as part of a team to provide tax and/or audit engagement services for clients
  • Lead tax and/or audit engagement teams to ensure all components of the engagement are completed, including gathering information from the client, leading planning meetings, performing risk assessments, overseeing fieldwork or tax preparation and review procedures, and seeing the engagement through final completion and delivery
  • Oversee and review the work of Senior Associates and Associates, including providing training, coaching, and mentoring
  • Apply strong judgment and analytical skills to prepare and review accounting and tax-related work papers, financial reports, tax returns, and other client deliverables while identifying opportunities to improve internal controls, accounting processes, and tax strategies
  • Manage client relationships by understanding and anticipating client needs
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients on day-to-day tax, audit, and accounting matters
  • Provide feedback and engagement updates to Senior Managers and Shareholders
  • Participate in business development activities and support efforts to grow the firm's client base
  • Utilize cloud-based technology, tax software, audit software, and other firm technologies to efficiently serve clients
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen client relationships and cross-sell additional Brady Martz services
Essential Position Responsibilities

Requirements
  • Bachelor s Degree in Business required, a Bachelors in Accounting preferred
  • 5+ years of accounting required including experience managing staff, preferably in public accounting
  • Licensed CPA or CMA license preferred
  • Understanding of GAAP and GAAS
  • Strong technology skills
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally
  • Team player
  • Ability to think innovatively
