The Accountant position is responsible for providing company leaders with monthly statistics and financial information. This position ensures accuracy in the allocations of organization costs and compiles, consolidates, and analyzes financial data for the production of financial statements and reports, to identify trends, to research variances and areas of concerns, to develop cost projections, and to present the results to various levels of management and internal/external customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Completes day to day accounting entries including but not limited to miscellaneous journal entries and correcting entries.
- Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting.
- Assists with month end adjusting entries and closing.
- Assist with monthly financial statement analysis.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process.
- Provide input into department's goal setting process.
- Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule.
- Verify, allocate, post and reconcile transactions.
- Produce error‑free accounting reports and present their results.
- Analyze financial information and summarize financial status.
- Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
- Secure financial information by completing database backups.
- Document financial transactions by entering account information.
- Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
- Summarize current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement and other reports.
- Bachelors or masters degree in tax, accounting, or finance.
- CPA.
- Minimum 5-10 years experience in accounting/finance.
- Experience with financial reporting requirements.
- Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas.
