Administrative Assistant (12-Month Position)
Reports To: Principal
Hours: 7:30 AM–3:30 PM, Monday–Friday, during the school year
Role DescriptionSaint Luke Catholic School is seeking a full‑time Administrative Assistant to join our dedicated team. The Administrative Assistant serves a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the school office and ensuring efficient communication and organization throughout the school community. This position provides administrative support to the principal and school leadership team, assists with office communications, schedules meetings and appointments, and serves as a welcoming first point of contact for parents, students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
With strong written and verbal communication skills, the assistant will prepare correspondence, maintain records, coordinate office activities, and support a variety of school projects and initiatives. The role facilitates the smooth operation of the school by responding to inquiries, managing office procedures, and ensuring that information is communicated effectively and professionally.
Under the direction of the principal, the assistant works collaboratively with members of the Administration, Business, Facilities, Communications, Admissions, and Faculty/Staff to support school-wide programs, events, and daily operations. The assistant also helps maintain efficient office systems, supports administrative staff as needed, and contributes to a positive, organized, and service‑oriented environment for the entire school community.
Qualifications- Proficiency in administrative assistance and clerical skills, including managing schedules, organizing files, and handling correspondence
- Excellent communication and phone etiquette for effective interaction with students, parents, staff, and external stakeholders
- Experience in executive administrative assistance, supporting leadership with tasks such as meeting coordination and document preparation
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
- Ability to work collaboratively in a faith‑based, mission‑driven environment
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism
- Prior experience in a school setting or educational institution is a plus
