About the Role:

Reporting to the Director, Franchise Performance (DFP), the Manager Franchise Performance (MFP) performs a crucial role in overseeing the operations and growth of multiple franchise locations within a specified territory. The MFP is responsible for managing FZ relationships, communicating and advising on the strategic business direction, and partnering with FZs to drive restaurant performance and profitability across the full portfolio. Provides guidance to ensure adherence to Subway operations requirements and brand standards.

The MFP is responsible for communicating the expected performance level of the locations and franchisees within their assigned territory in relation to the company's KPI's and metrics. They work closely with franchisees to ensure they are meeting operational and financial goals and implementing best practices. The MFP monitors key performance indicators, analyzes financial and operational data, and provides guidance and support to franchisees to improve restaurant performance.

They may also develop and implement training programs, conduct performance evaluations, and collaborate with other departments to drive business growth and success. The MFP plays a key role in fostering strong relationships with franchisees and driving the overall success of the franchise network. In partnership with the DFP, they will drive business growth by identifying potential consolidation or expansion opportunities within their market.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Drive Performance

  • Fostering and enhancing positive relationships with franchisees, serving as a business consultant and advisor to Franchisees in operations, finances, and business execution; conducts regular business and operational assessments to uncover growth potential and opportunities.
  • Reviews all restaurant operating reports and audits, analyzes data, collaborates with franchisees to determine solutions; assesses performance against Subway policies and procedures and provides tailored guidance for improvement.
  • Drive accountability with franchisees to achieve specific restaurant and territory objectives; establish goals based on KPIs, programs, and standards to promote profitable sales, increased customer traffic, and growth in average check size.
  • Provide guidance on operational and food safety during monthly restaurant visits in a designated territory; record compliance, note improvements, identify opportunities, and provide recommendations after each visit.

Building Relationships

  • Provide direction and guidance to franchisees regarding operations, new products and programs, openings, and ownership transfers; ensure initiatives are executed to drive sales growth.
  • Coach and motivate franchisees on a portfolio level; develop productive working relationships with franchisees, territory team members and Subway employees; build relationships through various methods as needed.
  • Coach and influence franchisees to drive employee engagement and improve guest experience, resulting in increased traffic and loyalty.

Development

  • Assist the DFP and cross-functional teams with development of new restaurants, ownership transfers, growth potential assessments, and remodels within the territory; coordinate with Development to prepare stores for openings.
  • Provide information to the DFP and MUO team regarding owners and their ability to expand; guide and train during and after store transitions.
  • Attend company and industry events to stay informed about trends.

Self-Development

  • Engage in designated training programs to enhance knowledge and skills; participate in training sessions such as University of Subway, Cascade Training, Monthly Business Reviews, and team calls; travel for training as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 5+ years in a multi-unit management role.
