The Smart Manufacturing Transformation Manager is responsible for driving enterprise-wide digital transformation across manufacturing, and critical stakeholders.
This position reports to the Vice President of Operations and is part of the Smart Manufacturing & Operations Excellence Digital Transformation team located in Fargo, ND and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Define and drive the Smart Manufacturing transformation roadmap, aligning digital, data, automation, and AI initiatives with business and operational priorities.
- Partner with manufacturing, quality, R&D, and business leaders to identify and deliver high-impact opportunities that improve throughput, right-first-time quality, and scalability.
- Prioritize and execute initiatives based on business value, risk, and dependencies to ensure efficient and focused delivery.
- Lead change management efforts to drive adoption of new processes, systems, and ways of working across manufacturing, quality, and R&D.
- Establish and drive a structured execution model, including roadmap planning, milestone tracking, dependency management, and risk mitigation to ensure consistent, on-time delivery.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Life Sciences, or a related field with 9 years experience OR Master's degree in field with 7+ years experience OR Doctorial degree in field with 4+ years experience
- Experience in manufacturing, operations, or digital transformation roles, including hands‑on experience delivering cross‑functional initiatives with proven ability to manage and deliver multiple concurrent initiatives with measurable business impact.
- Experience with digital manufacturing technologies such as MES, automation systems, or manufacturing data platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to bring structure to ambiguous environments, defining plans, priorities, and execution frameworks (such as Agile Scrum).
- Capability to identify future industry trends and translate to applicable business actions with strong stakeholder management experience across business, operations, and IT functions.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Experience with AI, advanced analytics, or data‑driven use cases in manufacturing, quality or R&D.
- Experience in regulated CDMO, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.
- Experience with large‑scale transformation programs or Industry 4.0 initiatives.
