Overview
For over 25 years, National Experienced Workforce Solutions (NEW Solutions) has been connecting experienced workers (ages 55+) with full‑time and part‑time opportunities for federal agencies. This Administrative Officer Advisor position supports the USDA Agricultural Research Service (ARS) through the Experienced Worker Program (EWP).
Enrollment is temporary and at‑will. Enrollees are participants in a grant program, not federal employees, and are not authorized to sign federal documents, authorize federal funds, or supervise federal employees.
Qualifications- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Administrative Officer or a BA/BS degree.
- Experience with Windows, MS Word, and MS Excel.
- Knowledge of ARIS Systems and dashboard tools.
- Provides advice and guidance to operational support services including budget and fiscal, personnel, procurement/contracting, property, computing services, laboratory services, facility management, warehousing, grants/agreements, and safety/environmental health.
- Advises on budgeting analysis, staffing plans, funding, and equipment requirements (20%).
- Assists with technical program requirements, contract specifications, approvals, and documentation to ensure availability of funding and compliance (20%).
- Supports personnel actions and advisement (20%).
- Advises on location and facility management programs, including R&M coordination (20%).
- Analyzes financial systems and recommends controls and procedures for accountability (20%).
- Physical requirements:
primarily sedentary work with sustained attention to detail and occasional short deadlines; accommodations may be made for disabilities.
